Tennis court enclosure

A simple new weatherproof enclosure was proposed for the two existing outdoor courts in the southeast corner of the Central Park tennis complex immediately adjacent to the Wellington Renouf Tennis Indoor Centre. The new building provides all weather practice facilities for tennis and extends the current capacity of existing Renouf Centre covered courts.

The enclosure consists of a large curved roof supported by four steel portal frames running north - south. The roof has three translucent strips centred between the portals to provide diffuse natural light during the day. Flood lights attached to the steel portals provide lighting for night-time tennis.

Access to the enclosure is maintained along an existing path between the Renouf Tennis Centre and the new enclosure.

This new tennis court enclosure provides a protected environment to enable tennis to be played in all weather conditions. The large curved roof protects the courts from wind and rain all year round.
